Most air services to Ghana advertise a per-pound rate that covers the flight only — customs clearance at Kotoka is billed separately, and the full Ghana import duty is passed to your recipient at the airport. Our $9/lb is all-in for everyday personal effects: clearance and Ghana duty on clothing, shoes, food, documents, personal-care and baby items are already in the price.
The one exception is new or high-value electronics — phones, laptops, TVs, consoles — where Ghana assesses duty by declared value, so we clear them for you but the duty is billed at destination. And with no steep weight minimum, small shipments win big: a 5 lb box is $9/lb ($45) with us, versus the ~$200 first-20-lb minimum many consolidators charge before clearance and duty are even added.
For air freight, your $9/lb rate includes customs clearance at Kotoka and Ghana import duty on everyday personal effects — used clothing, shoes, food, documents, personal care and baby items. Duty on new or high-value electronics by air, and all ocean and vehicle shipments, is assessed separately on arrival by the declared value and paid by your consignee. Rates cover transport and standard handling. Air rates also cover customs clearance and Ghana import duty on personal effects. Not included: Ghana import duty on electronics and on all ocean/vehicle shipments, last-mile delivery inside Ghana, cargo insurance (available as add-on), and oversize/overweight surcharges for barrels exceeding 300 lbs.

No minimums for air freight — we ship single packages. For ocean freight, the minimum is one barrel or one box.
We invoice in USD from our Atlanta end. Your consignee in Ghana pays any customs duties in cedis at the current exchange rate.
