Are customs duties included in these rates?

No — Ghana Customs duties are assessed separately on arrival and depend on the declared value and item category. VoltaHaul handles all customs paperwork, but duties are paid by your consignee in Ghana. Most personal-use shipments carry low or zero duty. See our Ghana Customs Guide for details.

What's not included in the quoted price?

Rates cover transport and standard handling only. Not included: Ghana Customs duties, last-mile delivery inside Ghana, cargo insurance (available as add-on), and oversize/overweight surcharges for barrels exceeding 300 lbs.

Do you charge dimensional weight for air freight?

Yes. Air freight is billed at the greater of actual weight or dimensional weight. Dimensional weight = (L × W × H in inches) ÷ 139. For dense items like electronics or clothing, actual weight usually wins. For bulky, light items, dimensional weight may apply.

Is there a minimum shipment size?

No minimums for air freight — we ship single packages. For ocean freight, the minimum is one barrel or one box.

Can I pay in Ghanaian cedis?

We invoice in USD from our Atlanta end. Your consignee in Ghana pays any customs duties in cedis at the current exchange rate.
