Door-to-door means we collect your boxes, barrels or electronics from your home or office in the US and deliver them to your recipient's door in Ghana. VoltaHaul handles the freight, the export paperwork and Ghana customs clearance in between, so nobody has to drop off or collect anything at a port or airport.
Door-to-door is the freight rate plus a $50 flat pickup fee in metro Atlanta. Air freight is $9/lb; ocean freight starts at $60 per item, with barrels at $250. Delivery to the recipient's door in Ghana is shown in your quote, and remote addresses may cost extra. Ghana import duty, where it applies, is paid at customs.
By ocean, plan on about 6 weeks door to door: 28–35 days at sea to Tema Port, then customs clearance and delivery. By air, freight reaches Kotoka Airport in Accra in 7–10 days, followed by clearance and delivery to the door.
Yes, for the Ghana side. We pick up in metro Atlanta only, so customers elsewhere in the US ship their boxes or barrels to our Lilburn, GA warehouse. From there we handle the freight and customs, and deliver to your recipient's door in Ghana.
Pickup anywhere in metro Atlanta is a $50 flat fee. We pick up in metro Atlanta only for now; outside it, ship your cargo to our Atlanta warehouse instead. You'll see the pickup fee in your quote before confirming.
We deliver to all major cities and regions in Ghana including Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, and Tamale. Remote or rural delivery may incur an additional surcharge — contact us with the specific address for a quote.
Yes — door-to-door is an add-on service. When you book, you choose your freight method (ocean or air) and add pickup and/or last-mile delivery. You can have pickup in the US without last-mile delivery in Ghana, or vice versa.
Yes, someone needs to be present to hand over the shipment and sign the pickup receipt. If you cannot be present, you can arrange for another adult to be there. Give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule.
